Cass turned me on to Carter's Lake a couple of weeks ago. It's only an hour or so out of
Atlanta up Ellijay way. It's an Army Corps project so the lake and campgrounds are spectacularly
designed and very clean. We spent a cold night on Doll Mountain and hit the vistas the next day.
We checked in at the welcome center which is well worth the trip then headed up to Tumbling Waters
hiking trail. The water was low, but the views were just gorgeous. We even met some friendly banjo playing
locals who asked me if I could squeal like a pig.
