Cass and I took a wonderful road trip this weekend to Macon, GA. Less than
2 hours away, it really felt like a world away. The city is pretty well deserted
post Cherry Blossom Fest, but the architecture, the river, the food, and the great
ghosts of music legends make it worth a visit. We chowed on the legendary
Nu-Way weiner
and Fincher's Barbecue - the only barbecue to ever travel
into space (good choice NASA). We visited the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and
the truly stunning St. Joseph's Cathedral (c.1903). Sunday we spent most of our
time at Rose Hill Cemetery which I will present to you in all it's glory another week.
You'll be listening to Chet Atkins and Doc Watson. Chet moved to Georgia when
he was 10 hoping to cure his asthma. He left only 7 years later.
Note: I'll be skipping a post next week. I'll be at the beach. (Yeah me!)
