Cumberland Island, voted one of the Top Ten Beaches
in the country by the Travel Channel, offers so much more.
Settled by Revolutionary War Hero Nathaniel Greene the island
later passed hands to Thomas Carnegie (these are the ruins you will see).
Lots of horses were set free and have been wild ever since. The island
is teeming with wild life. It was generously donated as a national
park in 1972. Today you can only reach the island by ferry and the
number of visitors is limited. It is just gorgeous.
