This week is a real treat. We have Roadside Art at it's finest. Pat Harvey, a third
generation farmer near Crawfordville, Florida decided one day that he'd clean up the
junked work trucks from his farm. He had vehicles his grandfather drove from nearly
90 years ago. All Fords except for one Dodge. He told us that instead of taking them to the
junkyard he decided just to line 'em up on the side of the two lane highway. He is a man
with vision to be sure. Driving down 319 after miles and miles of strip mall heinousness you
suddenly come up on these beautiful, rusted trucks. They have so much history and character
and it's like a mystery as to why they are there. We were fortunate enough to meet the
artist and he loves it when people photograph his work. Of course, the city tries to fight
him as to whether or not he can keep the cars there. Let's hope that for once
aesthetic prevail. I hope you can see these in person one day!
